In the surrounding area you can visit the enchanting town of Montepulciano with its architectural and artisic attractions and its cantine where you can taste and buy the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. 

Nearby is the lake of Trasimeno, as are the beautiful Unesco protected valleys of Val D’Orcia and Val di Chiana, the towns of Pienza, Cortona, Chiusi, Cetona, San Quirico D’Orcia, all famous for their artistic heritage, and Montalcino where again you can visit its cantine where the world famous Brunello di Montalcino is produced.  

Other possible excursions are the termal towns of Bagno Vignoni, San Casciano dei Bagni and  Bagni San Filippo, where you may enjoy a hot thermal bath and relax in one of the several spas.  

The pictoresque borghi of Monticchiello, Montefollonico and Lucignano d’Asso are definitly worth a visit as is the Basilica of Monte Uliveto Maggiore. For those interested in art, the fabled cities of Siena, Perugia, and Arezzo are only a 45 minute drive away. Not much further are Assisi, Orvieto and Florence.
