To get to Montepulciano there are several possibilities: the closest airport is Perugia but this only has a limited number of connections. The other airports are Florence, Pisa and Rome. To Florence there are not many low cost flights, but many of the major airlines fly there.
Normally people prefer to fly to Pisa or Rome where there is a great choice of low cost flights.
From Rome or Florence it is much easier and faster to get to Montepulciano by car. At both airports you can rent a car. From Rome take the A1 in the direction of Firenze and leave the motorway at the exit Chiusi/Chianciano Terme or at the exit Val di Chiana; then go in the direction of Montepulciano and look for Ascianello, the small village where opposite the old church you will find the Villa. From Florence, take the A1 in the direction of Rome and take the exit Val di Chiana. From Pisa, take the ‘superstrada’ called FiPiLi (Firenze, Pisa Livorno) in the direction of Firenze, and from Firenze the A1 in the direction of Rome and leave motorway at Val di Chiana. You would be well adivsed to buy a good map of the area, both for finding Ascianello and for excursions during your stay, or chek the itinerary on google maps. Once in Ascianello, call the owner.
